Well, were back doing business as usual here in the beautiful area of Bennington VT after that snow storm that started on Sunday and went through Monday afternoon.   It kind of paralized the real estate world as it was very hazardous trying to get around.  I do want to thank the town and state workers for all they did to keep the roads open the best as possible.  What a great bunch of workers who worked throughout the night and day to make the roads passable.  

So  it’s business as usual and we hope that we will hear from you to help with selling your home or buying a new home, here in the Bennington VT real estate market.  Don’t forget that we cover most of Bennington county as well as a portion of Windham county, and now we go over the line into New York.

If you like to sing Christmas Carols then join us at the Price Chopper parking lot at 7:00 pm this evening for a community Caroling.  It’s lots of fun, I have participated for a number of years now.   Reverand John Goyette of  Green Mtn. Christian Center has taken the time each year to pull this event together and he leads us in our favoirte carols.

Well Christmas is almost here.  How many of you men have still not shopped.  You better get busy!

          Merry Christmas

Winters here in Bennington, VT.  Weather this morning was a mixture of snow and sleet.  A teaser of things to come. 

Real Estate here in Bennington, VT in the winter season brings with it a tougher time when showing houses.  It is hard for the realtor to ask the buyer to wear a certain shoe or boot on their feet to keep the minimun amount of weather on the outside of the sellers home.  Wearing boots or shoes that tie make it hard to put them on and off however most don’t want to invade someones home with messy shoes.  Slip ons are much easier and a warm pair of socks allow for walking on cooler floors easier on your feet.  Some sellers have decided to leave slippers in various sizes by the door to help keep feet comfortable during a winter showing.

One other situation that arises that puts a burden on both seller and buyer is the clearing of the snow from walkways and driveways.   There are times when the seller clears the snow and then goes off to work.  A little bit later it starts to snow and sure enough that is about the time when the Realtor is coming by to show the house and the plow truck is plowing the road and fills the end of the driveway.  Please be aware that this is beyond the sellers control and try to wear the appropriate footware to accomodate a situation such as this .
